Hey Fibromyalgia peeps, can we talk?

1. We live with a pain level most people can’t possibly understand and it affects every aspect of our lives.

2. Many of us suffer from sleep deprivation, which, of course feeds into exhaustion, lack of focus, stress, anxiety and depression.

3. We know we can benefit from exercise but don’t know where to start, how to get motivated, or if we can even do it at our pain level.

When I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, there were no treatments available. In fact, most doctors didn’t even believe it was real!

I went from being a competitive athlete in high school and college to sitting on the couch wondering why I couldn’t move.

I struggled with pain that sidelined me from my favorite activities. It was so frustrating! Imagine feeling that way and then finding out that doctors thought you were making it all up! UGH!

I finally found a doctor that saw me as a whole person and told me about fibromyalgia. He said there were no treatments, but it might help to exercise.

I found a yoga class at work and joined. Yoga turned out to be a gentle way to start moving again. It also helped with relaxation and improved my sleep. But, as it turned out, yoga at work can be stressful, so I dropped it.

So, what did I do? I found a fabulous online yoga workout that’s suitable for all levels and started doing that at home.

I also joined an online accountability group filled with other people doing the same workout. The results were phenomenal!

My joints sounded like a bowl of rice crispies when I started the 3 week program. Not anymore! Now my movement is more fluid without the symphony of cracks!

My sleep improved and as I’m sure you can guess, that helped with focus, concentration, and depression.

I felt amazing, ready to tackle the world, and I knew I could beat this chronic pain and become #fibrostrong
